According to the National
Institutes of Health, for every 10,000 women taking
hormones in one year, 31 women will become ill with
either:
- Heart Disease
- Breast Cancer
- Strokes
- Blood Clots
Below are the side effects
and risks of Estrogens and/or Progestins that are listed
on the Premarin product insert sheet:
- Nausea, vomiting,
pain, cramps
- Yellowing of the skin
and/or whites of the eyes
- Enlargement of benign
tumors ("fibroids")
- Irregular bleeding
or spotting
- Retention of excess
fluid. This may make some conditions worsen,
such as asthma, epilepsy, migraine, heart disease,
or kidney disease
- A spotty darkening
of the skin, particularly on the face; reddening of
the skin; skin rashes
- Headache, migraines,
dizziness, faintness, or changes in vision (including
intolerance to contact lenses).
- Mental depression
- Involuntary muscle
spasms
- Hair loss or abnormal
hairiness
- Increase or decrease
in weight

Possible changes in blood sugar

on the product insert sheet:
- High blood pressure
- Gallstones
- Increased risk of
breast cancer
- Birth defects if Provera
is taken while pregnant
- The formation of blood
clots especially in the lungs or brain
- Weight gain
- Impaired glucose tolerance
- Acne
